Among the revelations was that lots of team-mates and friends knew about his arrest in New York, yet it was never publicized by any of them which he finds remarkable.

He also spoke about certain character quirks that emerged in the book including his obsession with being punctual and the terrible eyesight he once put up with.

Brian also touched on the night out after his famous Six Nations hat-trick in Paris which included puking on the Champs Elysees and how post-match functions have changed.

He also recalls the time that rugby's popularity boomed in Ireland at the start of the new Millennium and the early days at Leinster all the way to the day he seriously contemplated leaving the province as he sought silverware.

"In a way it would have been like a Jonny [Sexton] decision. Not wanting to, but feeling like you had to," said Brian.

He also discussed the rivalry between Leinster and Munster and how tensions ebbed and flowed as the years progressed, as well as a training ground fight with provincial team-mates.

He spoke about the period in his life when he was named Ireland's Sexiest Man and the ensuing Late Late Show interview.

Brian also detailed the horrific period when he was dealing with the death of a close friend's suicide, which coincided with difficulties on and off the rugby pitch.
