'We need to stop the rot against England' - Trimble

While Ireland will battle England for what looks to be the right to go for the Grand Slam, Andrew Trimble reckons there is another key incentive for Joe Schmidt's side ahead of Sunday's Six Nations match.

England will make it four Six Nations wins in a row should they beat Ireland at the weekend and Trimble says that run needs to be put to an abrupt stop.

Speaking on Off The Ball's live roadshow at Dublin's Mansion House alongside Brian O'Driscoll and Keith Wood, he said: "Last year, over there, they are certainly a difficult side to beat. They're a lot more structured and a lot more disciplined on and off the pitch. As Brian alluded to, we need to stop the rot and this year is a great opportunity to do that."

Trimble also shared his experience of facing England down the years, while Brian also explained why he thinks "England get excited by defending" and how that benefits that team.

Keith also reminisced about his famous try against Sunday's opposition back in 2001 and looked back on the time when Ireland could only take rare wins against the 'old enemy'.

Trimble also talked about the toe injury setback he suffered and his prognosis.
