Brian O'Driscoll has key points which show just how "immense" Henshaw was against France

Brian O'Driscoll has described Robbie Henshaw's performance against France as "immense".

The centre impressed in yesterday's Rugby World Cup pool victory and speaking on Off The Ball tonight, Brian picked out the qualities that the Connacht star showed in a monumental game.

"I thought Robbie Henshaw was absolutely immense. I think his tackle count was 17 or 18 and they're huge numbers for a centre. He also had a big role in looking after Jonny [Sexton] to a degree with Bastareaud, but also looking after Keith Earls with Bastareaud. And you know you've done a good job when you lose Freddy Michalak on 55 minutes being subbed off and Bastareaud then went around the 65 minute mark. You know you've done a pretty good job in the centre if both of those two are being subbed off and two new guys are brought on to try and spark something. I thought he was really top class."

Brian also highlighted how impressed he was with the players who were sprung off the bench, like Iain Henderson, to replace those who suffered serious injuries.

"That's the strength of Ireland at the moment - it's no longer a first 15 or a first 23. It's that 31-man squad that they can delve into anyone and be comfortable with whatever personnel comes in."

With injuries and Sean O'Brien being cited ahead of the Argentina game, Brian expects Chris Henry to start and Iain Henderson to play at 6 as the "explosive ball carrier", with Donnacha Ryan to partner Devin Toner in the second row.
