Could Henshaw leave Connacht sooner rather than later?

They deserve much more, but unfortunately Connacht will not be playing Champions Cup rugby next season as they fell to an extra-time defeat to Gloucester.

What knock-on effects could it have for the province? We spoke to Liam Toland on Off The Ball tonight and he spoke about the future vis a vis Ireland centre Robbie Henshaw.

"We're all talking about Paul O'Connell and where he's going to be next year. Certainly, Robbie Henshaw, and the new structures within Ireland, does that force the Irish hierarchy to pull some sort of rank and say 'look, it's time to move in'. So there's huge costly aspects to it," he said.

"But I don't think there's a massive need for him to go because of the World Cup is going to eat so much [of next season]."

Connacht's mood will not be helped by contentious refereeing decisions and Toland said: "In this case, [Romain Poite] got it really badly wrong."
