Dylan Hartley set to become England's new captain

Northampton Saints hooker Dylan Hartley looks set to become England's new rugby captain.

The 29-year old has one 66 caps for England but missed out on a place at this year's World Cup. The hooker was banned in March for head-butting an opponent and was subsequently thrown out of England's training squad.

The hooker has a history of disciplinary issues and missed out on the 2013 Lions tour when he was sent off in the English Premiership final. Hartley has been banned for a total of 54 weeks throughout his career.

Hartley's potential promotion to captain means that Chris Robshaw is to lose the honour. Head coach Eddie Jones previously claimed at the World Cup that the Harlequins star "is an outstanding club player but at international level he just doesn’t have that point of difference."

England begin their Six Nations campaign away to Scotland on February 6th,
