"It's hard to see an exit strategy out of this group" - Eddie O'Sullivan and Shane Jennings debate Leinster losses

Unless they can raise their game to a level to thwart Toulon home and away in their next Rugby Champions Cup games, Leinster face a hugely disappointing early exit from Europe.

But why have Leo Cullen's team been so poor in continental competition this season as they reel from defeats to Bath - and more disappointingly in terms of performance and result - Wasps?

Ex-Leinster flanker Shane Jennings and former Ireland head coach Eddie O'Sullivan joined Off The Ball tonight to discuss the situation.

"It's a tough place now for them because it's hard to see an exit strategy out of this group," said Eddie, adding that Toulon's defeat to Wasps is not good news for Leinster with the reigning European champions set to come out fighting hard for top spot in the pool.

Jennings also feels that the province are trying to adapt to changes.

"No matter how many different ways you say it, this team is going through some form of transition. We saw it with Munster when they were very successful, they struggled to maintain that, Leinster came on, they performed very well and now there is that challenge of maintaining that," he said, while Eddie added that the challenge for Cullen - among others - was taking over a successful dynasty and that patience is required, citing the experiences of previous head coaches.

Eddie also spoke about his worries about Jonathan Sexton's form, although he does not think it has anything to do with a hangover from the World Cup.
