The fight for the last place in Ireland's pool at the 2019 Rugby World Cup will be decided over the next couple of weeks.

Samoa take on Germany in a two-legged after the Europeans beat Portugal 16-13 last Saturday to advance to a play-off.

A perfect display from Raynor Parkinson off the tee helped the Germans to a narrow win in Heidleberg.

The first game takes place this weekend in Apia with the return leg on the 14th July.

The winners will join Ireland, Scotland, Japan and Russia in Pool A of the global showpiece next year.

Germany lost all their matches in the Rugby Europe Championship but an independent disciplinary process found that Spain, Romania and Belgium had all fielded ineligible players and the Germans advanced to a play-off against Portugal.
