"Henshaw will definitely end up at Leinster and he's preparing the ground for it"

Kieran Marmion's decision to sign a new deal with Connacht was a piece of good news for the province.

But for now, there is a worry about the future of their centre Robbie Henshaw, who has not ruled out a move to Leinster.

Liam Toland and The Irish Times' rugby correspondent Gerry Thornley were on Off The Ball tonight and the latter believes a move is inevitable.

"They're definitely getting Henshaw. It's 99 per cent likely and it has been for a year now. I don't understand why there's so much discussion about it. I'm sure that working with Jonny Sexton, Brian O'Driscoll and so forth in the Irish camp only made him more determined to go and [Leinster] could do with a 12 I think," said Gerry.

"He'll definitely end up at Leinster and he's preparing the ground for it."

As for the poor form of Leinster, Toland feels that the "Irish players coming back [from the World Cup] look mentally tired", while he and Thornley discussed the changing landscape of European rugby and how Ireland can remain competitive in such a challenging backdrop.

"The English clubs are now moving onto Irish players. They're as much of a threat as the French clubs were. If Irish teams stop being competitive in Europe, there'll be a flight of wild geese type proportions," Gerry warned.
