Jordi Murphy move to Ulster could be announced this week

Jordi Murphy’s proposed move to Ulster could be confirmed by the end of the week according to RTÉ.

After seven-years and 95 appearances the flanker is leaving Leinster to join their provincial rivals.

He’s set to link up with Ulster head coach Jono Gibbes who worked with Murphy for three seasons at Leinster, while director of rugby Les Kiss served as Ireland's defensive coach when Murphy make his debut.

Murphy played the full game against Fiji, and has amassed 18 Ireland caps since making his debut against England in 2014.

Injury and a stacked back-row have also not been conducive to game time.

The back-row has been competing with Sean O'Brien, Rhys Ruddock, Josh van der Flier, Dan Leavy, Jack Conan and Jamie Heaslip.

The move to Ulster to pursue more game time will likely see Murphy become a regular fixture in their XV.
