Leinster lose Jack Conan for significant period

Leinster say that Jack Conan is facing an eight-week lay-off after undergoing his ankle operation.

The back-row has one Ireland cap and the injury was sustained in a pre-season match against Gloucester.

With the European Champions Cup starting on the weekend of October 14th, the recovery timescale means Conan is likely to miss the first pool fixtures.

Second-row Ian Nagle is also sidelined for at least another two weeks with shoulder injury, but Dave Kearney and Isa Nacewa have both returned to full training this week.
