"World Class" Sexton the Difference Against South Africa

Ireland faced a tough test in their first November international as Joe Schmidt's side welcomed South Africa to the Aviva.

However, a commanding performance from debutants and experienced players alike lead to Ireland sealing a 38-3 win, and earning a record margin of victory over the Springboks.

There was plenty of praise from Niamh Briggs, Fergus McFadden and Mike McCarthy in the Aviva Fan Studio after the game, as he once again showed his class.

Speaking to Adrian Barry on Off The Ball's coverage for, McFadden noted that while there was a very strong performance from a number of players, it was the fly-half who made the difference.

"He's just awesome, he's world class," Briggs enthused,. "I love the fact that he's cranky and drives high standards, I really admire that in him. Fergus would probably tell me different in having to train with him every day!"

McFadden concurred, stating that the Leinster star was the difference maker in the squad.

"What sums Johnny up is he got Man of the Match today, we beat them 38-3, and when the camera went on to him at the end and he looked like he thought he shouldn't have gotten that award, or like he was fed up that some things went wrong. He's a perfectionist."

"We've got some incredible players int he Irish team, but he's world class. He's the best 10 in the world at the moment, without a shadow of a doubt."

We'll be back in the Aviva Fan Studio for the next game against Fiji with a great panel of guests, as well as on Tuesday as Ireland take on Denmark with everything on the line.
