Munster number-8 Arno Botha will leave the province next month, after agreeing a deal to return to Super Rugby in South Africa.

The powerful back-row has agreed deal with his former side Blue Bulls, with Munster confirming he has played his final game for the province.

Botha joined Munster at the start of the 2018-19 season, having spent the previous six months at London Irish.

The 28-year-old Springbok proved an invaluable and versatile option for Johann van Graan over his two seasons at Thomond Park, scoring eight tries in 43 games - missing just seven games across the two campaigns.

His performances in the current season saw him named in the PRO14's top 10 players, touching down for six tries in 11 league appearances, including a hattrick in the win versus the Southern Kings in February.

In an Instagram post, Botha has thanked the Munster fans for their support, ahead of his move back home.

"It's impossible to say how much the last two years have meant to me in a few photos. I can say that it has been an absolute pleasure playing for one of the best clubs in the world and working with the best people.

"Playing in front of such incredible support was an honour and I'm very proud to have worn the Munster jersey. Thanks for everything," he added.

Meanwhile the province have reportedly agreed a deal to sign 22-year-old tighthead prop Roman Salanoa from Leinster.

The Irish Independent report that the IRFU were keen for the Hawaiian native to make a switch from Leinster, with Tadhg Furlong and Andrew Porter locked into the starting spots at the RDS.

Salanoa is seen as a possible future Irish international, for which he would qualify by residency.
