No more positive cases recorded in French squad

The French Rugby Federation have revealed there have been no further positive coronavirus results from the latest round of testing in their Six Nations squad.

French captain Charles Ollivon is one of 10 players who have already contracted the virus - putting this Sunday's game against Scotland in doubt.

A short statement from FFR on Tuesday morning read: "Following the RT-PCR tests carried out last night, all of the players and management tested negative for COVID-19."

The players ruled out for this weekend due to positive posts have all been replaced in the 31-man squad.

The Scottish Rugby Union (SRU) said on Monday night that they hope the game with France can go ahead as planned on Sunday.

A decision on whether the game will go ahead will be made on Wednesday.

France beat Ireland at the Aviva Stadium on February 14th but there have been no positive cases in Andy Farrell's squad.

Ireland will look to pick up their first win of this year's Six Nations when they face Italy in Rome on Saturday.

Ireland attack coach Mike Catt is confident the side will improve and become more clinical in the three remaining games.

"We probably could've scored two or three extra tries against Wales with fourteen men with the opportunities that we created. Against France as well.

"So it's making sure at this level that the players understand that you have to nail what you create.

"We've obviously been pretty disappointed, in terms of the finishing, but ultimately the players have got to get this right for this weekend."
