Off The Ball will be speaking to the ex-Wales rugby star forced to retire after epilepsy diagnosis

The issue of concussion in rugby and other contact sports has become increasingly understood and studied in recent years.

But could head traumas sustained on the rugby field be linked to the development in epilepsy?

Ex-Wales international forward Jonathan Thomas has retired on medical advice at the age of 32 and his club Worcester revealed that he had been diagnosed with epilepsy last year, which is the result of "multiple head traumas".

This has led to a "degree of brain injury" and curtailed his involvement in the game.

Tonight on Off The Ball, Thomas, who won 67 international caps between 2003 and 2011 will be speak to us about his diagnosis and his experiences. Tune in from 7pm tonight.
