Rassie Erasmus: "I have unbelievable belief in Duncan"

Munster's Director of Rugby Rassie Erasmus was delighted his team overcame a difficult patch to see off Toulouse and book their place in the Champions Cup semi-final.

Speaking to Newstalk Sport's Oisin Langan, he said: "There was a little period there...we were playing within ourselves and they were really turning the pressure back on to us which we handled eventually but you can certainly see we weren't playing as well then but then the crowd got behind us and started singing and I think the players got over that.

"In that specific bit I think it's pleasing the guys could handle that bad patch and get over that bit."

Speaking about the decision to turn down an early shot at goal and go to the corner, Erasmus said: "We're not the biggest team physically in the European competition. I think we're probably one of the smaller teams but the guys are very fit and back their systems so obviously when they got a yellow card that contributed to us not kicking at goal and going to touch and then get the try."

Talking about the performance of Duncan Williams who had to step into the boots of Conor Murray, he said: "I have unbelievable belief in Duncan. We've won most of the games he has played. We will always miss Conor. He's one of the best in the world but I've got full support and belief in Duncan."
