Rassie Erasmus posts cryptic tweet amid World Rugby punishment talk

Following news that he may soon be punished by World Rugby, Rassie Erasmus has once more taken to Twitter to air his grievances.

The South African Director of Rugby attracted plenty of attention for his behaviour during the recent British & Irish Lions tour.

After overseeing a 2-1 win for the Springboks, it was announced that Rassie Erasmus may face major sanctions for his outspokenness pending a misconduct hearing.

In what may not have been the wisest move, Erasmus has seemingly turned to a fable as means of explaining his frustrations with rugby's governing body.

Calling on donkeys, tigers and lions, he is not pleased.

"When ignorance screams, intelligence is silent," the fable concludes. "Your peace and quiet are worth more."

In the week leading up to the second Lions test, a disappointed Erasmus made his thoughts regarding the officiating of South Africa clear in an hour-long video.

One of many unusual bits and pieces the former Munster man involved himself in over the course of the series, it remains to be seen what punishment he will face.

Among the punishments that could be dished out is a stadium ban. Pending the outcome of the deliberations, Rassie Erasmus is free to work with South Africa over the next two weekends.

The Springboks face Argentina in the Rugby Championship. However, the dim view taken by World Rugby regarding the video looks set to curtail his involvement beyond that.
