Robbie Henshaw is "not ruling out" a move to Leinster next summer

Connacht star Robbie Henshaw has refused to rule out a move to Leinster next summer.

The 22-year-old is out of contract with the Galway based side at the end of this season. He has been linked with moves to Leinster and Munster since breaking into the Ireland squad 12 months ago.

Henshaw was speaking to Newstalk Breakfast's Ivan Yates to mark the launch of College Awareness Week this morning when the topic of his future with the western province was brought up.

"I have to look at my options and I suppose coming up towards Christmas will have to have a look. I can expect it to be an ongoing process. At the moment, I have to get all my options on the table and then I'll have to see what is best for my career. I'm not making any decision yet. I'm just waiting until all the options come in."

Henshaw has yet to earn an IRFU Central Contract, but that will change next summer after his current contract expires. He told Ivan that he expects to have a say in where he plays next season. "I would imagine that it will be my call" but added that the IRFU may also advise him on where they want him to play.

When asked about a potential move to the RDS and Leinster, Henshaw was a little more open. "I'm not ruling it out at the moment. We will have to see what happens."

Despite the interest he stressed he is committed to Connacht at the moment. "I'm 100% focused for Connacht for this year and for my contract... At the moment I am completely focused on my rugby with Connacht."
