Schalk Burger signs two-year deal with Saracens

Saracens have announced that South Africa's Shcalk Burger will join the club on a two-year deal.

The South African legend, who retired from the international set up after the World Cup in 2015, will join the club from the start of next season.

The flanker will join up with them for the 2016/17 season, and brings a wealth of experience to the side, having won the World Cup in 2007 and being named IRB Player of the Year in 2004.

He took to Twitter to send a message to Saracens fans in the wake of the announcement being made.

Speaking about the signing, Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall said: "Schalk is a Springbok legend, and will add a huge amount of experience and quality to our young English pack of forwards at the club. We have always talked about having the right blend of experience and youth in our squad, so to be able to add one of the world's finest players to the group is extremely exciting news".
