The final score saw the Aussies drop 1.8 ranking points which was enough to see them drop below Joe Schmidt's side.
The only other change in the top ten sees France being leapfrogged by Los Pumas despite their defeat in Dublin.
Les Bleus could only manage a 23-all draw with Japan in Paris which saw them swap 8th and 9th positions with the South American nation.
