Tommy Bowe likely to miss the rest of the season

Ireland's World Cup injury hangover looks set to continue with reports that Tommy Bowe may not feature for Ireland or Ulster for the rest of the season.

The winger injured his knee in Ireland's World Cup loss to Argentina last weekend in Cardiff and was seen arriving in Dublin after the game in a knee brace. The Belfast Telegraph have reported that the Monaghan native may miss between six and nine months due to knee ligament issues.

The injury will be a major worry for Joe Schmidt, who saw Peter O'Mahony and Jared Payne's tournaments ended through injury. Johnny Sexton also missed the Argentina game after suffering with groin and abductor problems. O'Mahony suffered an ACL injury in the France game and although not confirmed, Bowe may have fallen to the same problem.
