The 2016 editions of the European Champions Cup and Challenge Cup got underway this weekend, with three Irish provinces in action.
Leo Cullen's Leinster were comprehensively beaten by London Wasps at the RDS earlier today, while Munster fought their way to a bonus point win over Treviso on Saturday. While on Friday, Connacht made sure they took all five points on offer from their trip to Siberia in the Challenge Cup.
Here is the best of the Twitter reaction.
Leinster v Wasps
Fantastic win for Wasps Thumped Leinster Halai good. Piutau purring That could be it for Leinster. Prob need away win at Bath or Toulon

When you hire a head coach with no experience.. Players have to take blame but Leinster looked clueless and lost out there
— Hugh Cahill (@hughcahill7) November 15, 2015
Cullen says he believes Leinster can still qualify. One of the worst days he's had in his time with the province. #ChampionsCup

Apparently about 200 Leinster at ticket office demanding their money back. Muck

Leinster need to dig incredibly deep next week, extremely disappointing, have never seen them as bad.

13 of the 15 Leinster players currently on the pitch are full internationals. Crazy to see them lacking in so much leadership.

Fantastic result for Wasps away at the RDS. Incisive in attack, conversion rate exceptional but all built of great defence. Wasps of old! ðŸ‘ðŸ¾

Munster v Benetton Treviso
ZEEEEEEBOOOO!! Munster have done it!!!! Zebo finishes off a lengthy spell of pressure. Wasn't easy, but they've got themselves a bonus.

What chance of CJ Stander geting an Irish cap this year? 100% I'm guessing #MunVTre
— Rugby Onslaught (@Rugbyonslaught) November 14, 2015
What a performance, yet again, from @CJStander last night. Already a Munster legend, can't wait to see him rampaging in the green jersey
— Tom Hennessy (@TomGoalie33) November 15, 2015
I'm 97% sure that if CJ Stander qualified for Ireland sooner we would've won the World Cup #beast
— Ben Jenkinson (@Ben_Jenko7) November 15, 2015
Munster have now lost Duncan Casey as well as Sherry. Jack O'Donoghue playing hooker. Uncontested scrums.
— Cian Tracey (@CianTracey1) November 14, 2015
The atmosphere at Thomond Park is as flat as Munster's performance. Trying to force everything which is resulting in error after error.
— Cian Tracey (@CianTracey1) November 14, 2015
Hard to comprehend how Dave Kearney has Ireland caps over Zebo. An atrocity.
