WATCH: The Aviva has been a knockout for Leinster

There was a lot of talk after the recent Ireland v Poland international about the Boys In Green "finally" making the Aviva Stadium their home after raucous night at Lansdowne Road.

Leinster Rugby have had no such problems at the rebuilt Dublin 4 venue but it's still surprising to think that 2012 was the last time the Blues hosted a European knockout game, and that they've only played three matches beyond the group stage there.

Matt O'Connor's side return to the Aviva today for their Leinster's Champions Cup quarter-final against Bath (3.15) - and Off The Ball will have live coverage of the game, with Ger Gilroy and Dave McIntyre being joined by Keith Wood, Liam Toland and Gavin Duffy to cover all the action.

Perhaps it's that many a pool-stage match has graced the Aviva Stadium, but it got us reminiscing on some memories from the not-too-distant past of triumphs, and thankfully for the 12-County Army there's been nothing to compare to Munster 2006 in the 'new' ground.

Instead it's a hat-trick of great days out beginning in the epic 2010-2011 campaign.

It began against Leicester when Jonathan Sexton kicked Leinster to a 9-3 half-time lead and Isa Nacewa worked a bit of magic to clinch it 17-10.

The Blues deserved victory regardless of some favourable calls from referee Nigel Owens, and while Rob Hawkins went over three minutes from time to create a shaky finish, Joe Schmidt's side held on for a meeting with Top 14 giants Toulouse in the semi-final.

Florian Fritz went over after just four minutes but this was to be an unforgettable performance by Leinster.

They stormed back through a Jamie Heaslip try and were 16-13 up at the break.

Against had to over come adversary in the second half. Louis Picamoles touched down just three minutes in but Brian O'Driscoll bagged a try of his own on the hour mark.

While Leinster went on to win by double scores, that was only courtesy of Sexton's 80-minute penalty.

A classic.

Leinster were back defending their crown the following year but they only had one knockout match at the Aviva this time out - and it's a day Cardiff Blues must want to forget.

Indeed, it was a match which the cliches 'laid down a marker' and 'made a statement of intent' were born for as a peaking Leinster stomped all over the Welsh.

They would go on to defend their title in style with an awesome victory at Clermont in the last-4 before burying Ulster at Twickenham in the final.
