WATCH: Three emotional hakas say goodbye to Jonah Lomu

Around 8,000 people attended a memorial ceremony at Eden Park in Auckland to remember the great Jonah Lomu.

Lomu died earlier this month, following a heart attack related to a kidney issue he suffered from. The All Blacks legend was only 40 when he died.

The ceremony allowed the general public to say goodbye to a man who scored 37 tries for New Zealand. A funeral service will take place tomorrow in private.

Players past and present paid tribute to the Auckland native. Recent World Cup winner Jerome Kaino and former teammate Michael Kirwan were among the pallbearers. Along with many All Blacks, Australian legends George Gregan and Tim Horan were also in attendance.

In the most unique of traditions, three hakas were performed as Lomu's remains left the stadium. His schoolmates from Wesley College, along with former teammates at both international and provincial level both performed a haka in memorial to the winger. Current students from Wesley College also performed a haka from the stand in Eden Park.
