Champions League Round-Up: Dortmund clinch top spot in Madrid, Tottenham enjoy rare win in Wembley

Tottenham finished their miserable Champions League campaign on a high this evening and will continue into the Europa League after Christmas following their 3-1 victory over CSKA Moskow.

Mauricio Pochettino opted to field an almost full strength squad for tonight's clash at Wembley Stadium knowing that avoiding would ensure they would progress to the Europa League in third spot.

It looked as though they would be in for another night of misery after Alan Dzagoev gave the Russian side the lead on the half hour mark. However, their fortunes changed after Dele Alli's beautiful curling effort drew them level on 38 minutes.

Just before the break, Harry Kane put Tottenham ahead and Alli added his second of the game after the interval to make sure of the win.

Real Madrid threw away their chance at finishing top of the pile in Group F after a 2-2 draw at home to German side Borussia Dortmund. The defending champions went ahead in the first half through Karim Benzena's coolly slotted goal after some good work from Cristiano Ronaldo.

He doubled his tally in the second half with an expertly taken header into the top corner. The damage could have been worse for Dortmund, but Roman Weidenfeller between the sticks made a number of important saves to keep them in the game.

Pierre Aubameyang pulled one back for the 2013 Champions League finalists before Marco Reus scored his third goal in two games two minutes before time to earn them a hard fought draw and keep them two points clear at the top.

Leicester City were already guaranteed top spot in their group as slumped to a disappointing 5-0 defeat away to Porto this evening.

Goals from Yacine Brahimi, Jesus Manuel Corona, Diogo Jota and a brace from Andre Silva gave the home side something to cheer about as they progress in second position.

Elsewhere in the group, Copenhagen compounded Club Brugge's miserable campaign to condemn them to a sixth defeat in six games.

Legia Warsaw secured third position and a place in the Europa League with a 1-0 victory over Sporting Lisbon.

Bayer Leverkusen finished runners-up with a 3-0 win against group winners Monaco.

Juventus extended their unbeaten run in the group stages to six games and had Gonzalo Higuain and Daniele Rugani to thank for a 2-0 win over Dynamo Zagreb.

Lyon and Sevilla played out a scoreless draw, with the Spaniards progressing in second position.
