Chelsea 2
Arsenal 0
Chelsea got the win they wanted but much like their season to date, controversy has shrouded the game after Diego Costa's part in Gabriel Paulista's sending off. Santi Cazorla was also shown red.
Second half goals from Kurt Zouma and Eden Hazard sealed the three points for the Blues, but it is the first half sending off of Gabriel that will grab the headlines. The Brazilian defender was shown the line for kicking out at the Spanish forward moments after he and Costa were booked after this incident;
The first goal of the day came when Kurt Zouma rose highest to head home a Cesc Fabregas free kick.
It was misery for Arsene Wneger's charges at this stage and to compound the misery further, Cazorla was shown a second yellow for a heft challenge on Fabregas. This one was a little less controversial:
At this stage a comeback looked unlikely as Chelsea controlled the game and in the dying stages Eden Hazard put the cherry on top as his deflected effort bounced by Cech and into the Chelsea net.
We have paid out on Eden Hazard as second goalscorer in #CFCvAFC. #fairplay https://t.co/31Aat0ZWZk

It was far from perfect from Chelsea but its a much needed 2nd win of the season and one that they will hope will kick-start their season.
