Chelsea won't have a home leg in Champions League last-eight tie

Chelsea and Porto's UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie is being moved meaning that neither side will have home advantage.

UEFA have confirmed that the two legs of the clash between the Premier League club and the Portuguese champions will be played in the Spanish city of Seville.

Thomas Tuchel's side were due to make the trip to the Estadio Do Dragao for the first leg of their tie on 7 April.

The Portuguese club were due to travel Stamford Bridge on 13 April.

However, the matches have now been switched from England and Portugal to the Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan due to coronavirus travel restrictions.

The Blues have already played at the home of Sevilla this season.

Striker Olivier Giroud grabbed the headlines when he scored all four goals in an impressive 4-0 win over Sevilla in a Champions League group stage victory last December.

UEFA's statement on the matter reads: "UEFA is able to officially confirm that the UEFA Champions League quarter-final first and second leg matches involving FC Porto and Chelsea FC, will now both be played at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán in Seville. The dates of the matches (7 April and 13 April 2021) and the kick-off times (21:00CET) will remain the same.

"UEFA would like to thank FC Porto and Chelsea FC for their support and close cooperation, as well as the Portuguese Football Federation, The Football Association, the Royal Spanish Football Federation and Sevilla FC for their assistance and agreeing to stage the matches."

Meanwhile, Chelsea full-back hasn't ruled out the possibility of leaving Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

"It’s still early to talk about the future," he told RAI Sport in Italy.

"I am focused on the national team only. We’ll see what happens in June. Chelsea can go all the way in the Champions League and the FA Cup. We can win something this season."
