Could Liverpool's Irish youngster feature in tonight's Europa League clash?

Irish youngster Daniel Cleary was named in Liverpool's Europa League squad for the competition this season, and while he hasn't yet taken to the pitch with the senior squad, that could soon change.

Brendan Rodgers has clearly taken a shine to the Dubliner, as he traveled with the squad on their preseason tour and eventually featured against the Malaysia XI, as well as giving him the nod to go with the squad on their Europa League adventures this year.

He didn't see any time on the pitch int heir opening game against Bordeaux, but speaking at the pre-match press conference, Rodgers stated that "Daniel will be in around the squad. Of course, we have played young players but I also respect that there are other players that need games as well and it is a competition that we want to get the victory in".

While he also suggested that there's a possibility of him going out on loan to get game time, he reaffirmed that he has high hopes for the youngster: "Daniel is a very good player, he is going to have a very good career in the game. He is very committed. I have seen developments in my time, as a young player, I've seen him improve".

If Cleary does manage to make it on to the pitch, he'll be the first Irishman to tog out in a Liverpool shirt since Robbie Keane.
