Dutch players halt match after 14 minutes to honour Johan Cruyff

The footballing world is still coming to terms with the untimely death of Johan Cruyff.

Cruyff died on Thursday after a battle with cancer. He was 68.

Despite most football clubs having time off due to the international break, Feyenoord and Sparta Rotterdam played a charity match in de Kuip hours after Cruyff's death was announced. Understandably, the fans were quick to give praise to the Dutch legend.

In the 14th minute of the game, the fans of both teams began to applaud the player, who in a single season with Feyenoord, helped them win the Eredivisie and Dutch Cup in 1983.

The game was stopped to as players joined in the tribute. Expect plenty of similar tributes in the Netherlands in the coming weeks.
