FAI spend €10K deleting John Delaney match-day programme comments

The FAI spent €10K to shred and replace programmes for today's Euro 2016 qualifier with Scotland.

The original programme is believed to have been ditched as it contained a feature from Chief Executive John Delaney on the recent scandals engulfing FIFA.

The Independent report that Delaney was unaware of the change, and it was down to an editorial change taken by the FAI's communications team.

In a statement, the FAI said: "John Delaney was entirely unaware of this change to the programme. He had already signed off on it and it was approved for printing.

"The decision to delete his comments where they related to FIFA was an editorial one that was taken by the communications team."
