Fairytale night for Marcus Rashford as 18-year-old helps Man United to big win

It was a fairytale night for 18-year-old Marcus Rashford as the Manchester United's double proved pivotal as the Reds came from a goal down to thrash FC Midjtylland.

The 5-1 win over the Danish side helped Louis van Gaal's side to overturn the loss from the first leg.

But United had to come from behind tonight as Sisto finished well to put Midjtylland in front on 27 minutes.

But a Bodurov own goal put Man United back into the tie five minutes later, before Rashford - who was only starting after Anthony Martial picked up an injury in the pre-game warm-up - scored his opening goal after Juan Mata had missed a penalty.

It was Mata who set up Rashford's opening goal on 63 minutes, before the youngster tapped in a second from Guillermo Varela's cross on 75 minutes.

With United rampant at this point, Ander Herrera converted a penalty in the final 10 minutes which also saw Andre Romer red carded for the Danish side.

Memphis Depay who enjoyed a fine night on the wing, scored the fifth goal.

Meanwhile, Tottenham also coasted through to the last-16 by beating Italian side Fiorentina 3-0 at White Hart Lane.

Ryan Mason put Spurs in front, before an Erik Lamela goal and a Fiorentina own goal sealed the victory.
