Fantasy Football Tips: The leading third striker options

Now that the sense of crisis around Chelsea's Diego Costa has died down with a goalscoring return against Hull City last Sunday, filling up the rest of your frontline is the next task for your team.

That's especially down to the fact that Manchester United's Zlatan Ibrahimovic is becoming essential as Sergio Aguero's endures a rough patch for Manchester City. Of course, Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku provide other able options.

But as Team 33 Fantasy Premier League pundit Tommy Rooney points out, the third striker has been a bit of a problem area this season.

So on this week's podcast, he and Eoin Sheahan joined me to talk about the cases for including West Ham's Andy Carroll , Swansea striker Fernando Llorente (£6.1) and Burnley's Andre Gray (£6.2).

"I'm looking at Carroll, Llorente and Gray. None of them have a standout set of fixtures that makes this an easy decision," said Eoin.

"I just think Burnley slightly edges them on the fixtures front. They do have Chelsea slap bang in the middle of the next five fixtures but Leicester come to Turf Moor which is a great fixture. They've got Watford, Hull and Swansea then as the rest of their next five which is great for Andre Gray."

He also points out that Llorente goals have come in purple patches or doubles rather than as a consistent haul.

"He seems to score all his goals in a four week period all in one game," said Eoin, contrasting that with Gray's more even spread of goals.

Tommy also picked out other options like Stoke City's new arrival Saido Berahino, Watford newcomer M'Baye Niang, while Odion Ighalo could get "a new lease of life".

But he has Ibrahimovic, Giroud and Lukaku in his own front three.
