Fantasy Tips: Yaya Toure's back but should you follow Pep Guardiola's lead?

As recently as three seasons ago, Yaya Toure was briefly essential in midfield for Fantasy Premier League players.

In the 2013-14 season, the Manchester City engine room occupant plundered 20 league goals.

It was an anomaly granted, as he would only hit double figures only in one campaign (2014-15 when he managed 10 strikes from midfield).

He has been absent for the first few months this season after Pep Guardiola went for other options and also delivered a blunt message of sorts in response to public remarks by the Ivorian's agent.

But after an apology, Toure is back and in the best way possible. A brace of goals against Crystal Palace gave Man City a 2-1 victory and means there is a real chance that Guardiola will trust him in the near future.

And that has Fantasy implications as Team 33 pundits Eoin Sheahan and Tommy Rooney point out on this week's edition of the Fantasy Tips Segment.

You can listen into this week's segment on the podcast player or on iTunes:

"I'm surprised how cheap Yaya is. He's only €7.6 million," says Eoin, adding that he had  also just owned by 1.1% which makes him a good differential option in your team.

And Tommy feels uncertainty around other City midfielders in real-life could open the door to Toure when it comes to regular action.

"If Yaya becomes the central figure of this City team up to Christmas, you're getting goals, you're getting assists," he adds, while Eoin points to the player's general good form around winter time traditionally.

And there is another benefit for Toure owners. He isn't in the club's Champions League squad which makes him only eligible for domestic action.

"He can't play Champions League. He was rested for Wednesday night's game and is fresh to go this weekend. I'm not saying it's a 'no brainer' but I think we're already on the precipice of it being a 'no brainer' which is really saying something," says Eoin.

The lads also talk Victor Anichebe is a cheap bench option in good form as well as Harry Kane's return.
