The body of a former Premier League player has been recovered by police from a river in Germany.
Steven Gohouri, a former defender at Wigan, was reported missing three weeks ago after he informed team mates at the TSV Steinbach club that he was travelling home to Paris in mid-December.
The alarm was raised when the Ivory Coast international did not return home. Police have said that an autopsy will be carried out to try and establish a cause of death.
Steven Gohouri (34) was capped 14 times by his country and also played club football for Borussia Mönchengladbach and PSG as well as Wigan.
