It's been a busy few days for the Ireland captain.
On Sunday night he was scoring for his MLS club side, LA Galaxy, and by Monday evening his was welcoming the birth of his second child.
Inevitably, assistant boss Roy Keane was asked whether he would be available to play in Thursday night's crunch Euro qualifier against Germany to which he replied: "Unless he's breastfeeding he should be fine."
At today's press briefing, the skipper cleared up some rumours about his availability for the game.
"As you can imagine, it’s obviously been fairly hectic,” said Keane.
“We played Seattle on Sunday and then left early Monday morning, my wife had a baby at 7pm on Monday evening, and I left the hospital at 9pm.
“I was two hours in the hospital so you can imagine how that went down.
“It has been a hectic few days but it has also been very joyful to have a new baby into our family.
“Now I’m here with the Irish team and I’m fully focused.”

When asked whether or not he had heard the comments made by his assistant manager, he replied: "“He’s used to it — he’s got bigger tits than me!”
The country's record goalscorer assured the players and fans that he is fully prepared for tomorrow night's clash.
"I’m ready to go,” he explained. “I wouldn’t be here if I wasn’t.”
If Keane scores tomorrow night, it will be his 68th international goal, drawing him level alongside German legend Gerd Muller.
There was bad news out of the camp this morning, as Martin O'Neill confirmed that full back Seamus Coleman will miss tomorrow night's game through injury.
The Donegal native had been struggling with a hamstring injury and faced a race to be fit in time to face the world champions in the Aviva Stadium.
“Seamus had a day off because he has worked exceptionally hard for the last couple of days and done very well indeed,” O'Neill said this afternoon.
“Seamus will not be playing in the (Germany) game.
“He was almost in contention a few times for Everton, so he’s getting better all the time. I think he will be absolutely and utterly fine for Sunday."
Other boosts to the squad have been creative midfielder Wes Hoolahan, defender Cyrus Christie and Darron Gibson, all given a clean bill of health ahead of the fixtures.

"Obviously Cyrus wants to play. He’s very, very keen to do so.
“He’s fine. The physios have done a little bit of work on him and he feels much freer. He’s ready to go.”
Kick-off at the Aviva Stadium tomorrow night is at 7.45pm.
