Inter Milan won't be increasing their offer for Romelu Lukaku

Inter Milan's Chief Executive Beppe Marotta has suggested they won't be upping their bid for Romelu Lukaku, insisting their rejected bid was "fair".

The Belgian striker is not part of United's squad for their friendly against Kristiansund in Norway today with an exit from Old Trafford looking likely.

Inter boss Antonio Conte is an admirer of the former Chelsea and Everton attacker but the Serie A giant saw a €60-million offer turned down earlier this month.

United are holding out for a fee closer to €80-million and Moratta's told Sky Sports Italia that they've been priced out of a deal.

“These days it is clear that the demands for players from clubs are really high in some cases, as for Lukaku.

“We have made an offer that was fair and important, respecting the player’s value. We will monitor the situation, but I don’t feel I want to lose balance.

“The transfer window is long this year. Operations are not rushed, as they have been in past years.

“We are careful to assess opportunities based on financial and economic capacities. We must, however, respect the parameters of Financial Fair Play.

"We are ready to pounce on opportunities, but prices are nowadays very high indeed. We'll continue to monitor the situation and anything can happen on the market."
