Caoimhín Kelleher has been handed his second international cap as he starts in goals against Qatar at the Aviva Stadium.
Stephen Kenny has made five changes from the side that beat Azerbaijan on Saturday evening in the World Cup qualifiers.
After his late goal on his senior debut in Baku, Chiedozie Ogbene is handed his first start along with Kelleher as Adam Idah drops to the bench.
Conor Hourihane, Enda Stevens and Jamie McGrath come in for Josh Cullen, James McClean and Daryl Horgan.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Kenny confirmed that Kelleher would be giving the opportunity to lay a claim to the number one jersey, after some fine performances from Gavin Bazunu.
"Caoimhin is a real natural goalkeeper. [A] terrific talent," Kenny said, "Obviously he played ten times for me as U21 manager so I'm well aware of his qualities.", Kenny said.
"It's just unfortunate last season when he was injured, and that opened the door in March for Gavin Bazunu who's been terrific.
"Obviously Caoimhin made his debut at half-time in the game against Hungary, but this is his first start tomorrow - and in front of the home crowd - but he deserves it."
The game will be played in front of a crowd of 25,000, a sold-out crowd under the current reduction in crowd sizes.
