When Blackburn Rovers left their mark on '90s football history

The noughties were definitely the decade where ludicrously wealthy foreign owners lapped onto the shores of the Premier League and turned the status quo on its head.

Yes, we're looking at you Mr Abramovich and Sheikh Mansour.

But the 1990s saw Blackburn Rovers given huge financial backing by Jack Walker as they went on to win the Premier League title in 1995.

But as we discuss, Walker's investment was far more romantic and far different to the splurges a decade later.

We look back on Walker's motives in an unfashionable town decimated by industrial decline, the type of squad building that took place and the epic strike pairing of Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton in squad full of British players.
