Johan Cruyff diagnosed with lung cancer

It has been announced this morning that Dutch football legend Johan Cruyff has been diagnosed with lung cancer.

The news about the 68 year old was revealed this morning by Catalan radio station RAC1. According to the station, Cruyff was told the news last Tuesday according to the station.

Cruyff played 48 times for the Netherlands and was part of the Dutch side that finished second in the 1978 World Cup. The Amsterdam native is best known for his spells at Ajax and Barcelona where he both played and managed at both clubs.

When playing with Ajax, he helped the team win eight Eredivisie titles and three European Cups. At Barcelona, he managed the club to four La Liga titles and also won the European Cup in 1992.
