John Hartson: I'm not even going to respond to some of the pundits that want to knock Celtic

Last season went the whole of the domestic campaign unbeaten and their Invincible record under Brendan Rodgers on Scottish soil has continued into this campaign.

They've stretched that unbeaten record to 63 games but given that it's the Scottish Premiership, that achievement is being played down in some quarters and even dismissed in others.

John Hartson, who won multiple titles with Celtic in the Martin O'Neill era, joined Joe and Kevin on the Football Show and he feels they are not getting the credit they deserve.

"When you play for Celtic, everybody wants your scalp so the teams raise their games, it's their cup final," said the former Wales striker.

"So to have gone 63 games unbeaten domestically, almost a year and a half in the job, who would have thought when Celtic appointed Brendan Rodgers almost a year and a half ago now or 18 months or so that they would have gone on this incredible run? Not one person would have foreseen this incredible run!"

He added that there are "seven to eight" Celtic players that would "quite easily get into teams in the Premier League" and didn't want to dignify the criticism of some pundits with too much attention.

"They deserve an awful lot of credit, they really do and listen, I'm not even going to respond to some of the pundits that want to knock them because at the end of the day, you're always going to get knockers and I think when you're a club like Celtic, people will always criticise the level of opposition that you play against and that's why it's very important."
