John Terry claims Robbie Savage played at "a really bad level"

Chelsea captain John Terry has today said he takes criticism for former players who have played to a high level, but not from players like Robbie Savage.

The centre half was speaking to the media ahead of Chelsea's Champions League clash with Dynamo Kiev tomorrow night when he was asked about recent criticisms of the team. Terry name checked players like Rio Ferdinand, Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville whose opinions he respects on the game but also mentioned Savage for the opposite reason.

"Maybe I don take it on the chin, when players who have not had a career, and have played at a really bad level throughout their career and come for people who have achieved what I have achieved in the game. Robbie Savage being one."

Savage has become an outspoken pundit since retiring from the game in 2011. He played 39 times for Wales and won a League Cup medal with Leicester City. Terry played 78 times for England and has won numerous domestic and European titles with Chelsea.
