John Terry says he will leave Chelsea in the summer after not being offered a new contract.
The captain has been at the club for 18 years, making nearly 500 appearances, having come through the academy.
Terry made the announcement after the Premier League champions' 5-1 win at MK Dons in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
"Ideally I would have loved to stay, but the club's moving in a different direction," said the ex-England captain.
He also added that he would not move to another Premier League club, much like long-time Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard did after leaving Anfield for Los Angeles Galaxy.
"I couldn't play for another Premier League club. It will be elsewhere for sure. I feel as though I'm in great nick, I'm playing great and I've got a couple of years to go. It'll just be elsewhere. The club will move on. No player is ever bigger than the club. No doubt they'll sign one or two great centre-backs."
