On a night where Jose Mourinho played an ancillary role at the Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony, the former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester United manager was subject to a curious line of questioning during the event.
Since departing Manchester United at the mid-way point of last season, Jose Mourinho's presence within the football media has notably increased.
Making an appearance at the Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony in Milan on Monday evening, the Portuguese partook in an absurd interview that ended with his sharp exit, despite the protestations of his interviewer.
"In the very future," explained the interviewer to a bemused Jose Mourinho, "before long, we will have an inter-planetary cup, a sort of clash of worlds.
"A competition full of stars, if it happened today we'd be ready because we have a lot of great stars and great players here, do you agree?"
Confirming that some of the world's most talented footballers were indeed present at an awards ceremony celebrating football, Jose Mourinho's proposed role in all this soon became clear.
"Could you imagine who could be the perfect, special coach for a team like this, a special team like this," she asked Mourinho.
Looking on rather bemused, the Portuguese referred to needing an unemployed coach to take on the task, looking to the likes of Fabio Capello and Walter Zenga in attendance.
"Coaches without a job: me, Fabio Capello, Zenga and some others, but I am a candidate," he said before making a hasty exit to the dismay of his interviewer.

Jose Mourinho made his rather hasty exit from the ceremony a little bit earlier than expected shortly thereafter despite the protestations of his interviewer.
"You have to stay here with me," she explained, "why don't you want to stay here?"
