Jose Mourinho's second spell in charge of Chelsea has come to an abrupt, if not inevitable end, as his side languish deep in the bottom half of the Premier League.
Reports emerged at the beginning of the week that Roman Abramovich and his board would meet in order to discuss several topics, one of them was the future and fate of Joe Mourinho.
Mourinho's side slumped to a ninth league defeat against table-topping Leicester City on Monday night and it appeared as though Mourinho's job, which had been shaky to begin with, was going to come under increasing scrutiny.
The news broke on social media just after lunch on Thursday as Chelsea prepare for what is now a relegation six-pointer against Sunderland at the weekend.

The former Porto, Inter Milan and Real Madrid manager had been in charge of Chelsea once before and had been at the helm for 212 matches, winning eight trophies with the London club.
There are possibly several options for Mourinho now as Real Madrid and Manchester United could be in the market for a new coach in the near future.
