Juan Last Time: Veteran Juan Sebastián Verón is back in football at the age of 41

Former Manchester United and Chelsea midfielder Juan Sebastián Verón is back in football at the ripe old age of 41 after re-signing for Argentinian side, Estudiantes.

Verón signs an 18-month deal with the Primera División side and comes out of retirement after hanging up his boots two years ago.

The former Argentina international stopped playing to become chairman of his boyhood club. He has won 73 caps for his country and also played his football in Serie A with both Inter Milan and Lazio.

"He told us he wants to return, that from January he will return as a player," midfielder Israel Damonte told La Oral Deportiva. "He will play from January for the tournament [league] and Copa [Libertadores in 2017]."

Verón will receive a minimal salary, which he says he will donate to charity. He had promised to play in the 2017 Copa Libertadores if supporters bought 65% of the tickets for the club's new stadium.

He is expected to feature against German side Bayer Leverkusen in the Florida Cup on January 8.
