Keep your eyes peeled for some Irish involvement in this weekend’s FA Cup

As always, we’re interested to see how our homegrown talent is getting on across the water and with the spotlight shifting once again to the FA Cup and some of the smaller clubs, here are a couple of players to keep your eyes peeled for.

Manchester United travel to Derby County on Friday night, where Cyrus Christie, Jeff Hendrick and Richard Keogh are all in contention to feature at Pride Park.

Saturday’s early kick-off will see League One side Colchester host high flying Tottenham Hotspur. Owen Garvan will be hoping to feature in the clash, the ex-Crystal Palace midfielder played in their 2-1 win over Charlton in the Third Round.

Chris Forrester will be flying the flag for Ireland when his Peterborough side make the trip to the midlands to face West Brom.

Out-of-favour internationals Stephen Quinn and Paul McShane may start for Championship outfit Reading when they take on Walsall, for whom Limerick born midfielder Anthony Forde may feature.

Sheffield Wednesday are once again with Kieran Westwood, who is likely to start as they travel to League One outfit Shrewsbury.

Fellow League One side Bury will have John O’Sullivan and Ian Lawlor available to them as they host Championship promotion hopefuls Hull, for whom David Meyler is a likely starter.

Two representatives apiece as Blackburn travel to League Two opposition Oxford United. Paul Lambert’s side includes Shane Duffy and Darragh Linehan, while for Oxford, Patrick Hoban and Callum O’Dowda are available.

Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich boast the services of Daryl Murphy, Kevin Foley, David McGoldrick, Jonathan Douglas and Jay Tabb, as they prepare to face Portsmouth, who will have Enda Stevens, Brian Murphy and Adam Barton to call upon.

Gary Dicker is an option for Carlisle as they host Roberto Martinez’s Everton on Sunday at 1.30pm.

Meanwhile, MK Dons have the duo Darren Potter and Samir Carruthers available to the visit of Chelsea in Sunday’s late game.
