Kenny Cunningham has pinpointed the link-up play between Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick as the area that particularly impressed him as Manchester United edged out CSKA Moscow 1-0.
Describing tonight's Champions League victory as "one of the better Manchester United performances", Kenny zoned in on Rooney and Carrick on Off The Ball.
"Carrick was instrumental in the centre of the pitch, getting the ball and moving it quickly into Rooney," he said of the captain who started alongside Anthony Martial.
"I think Rooney looked more comfortable there. I thought the link-up play between Michael Carrick and Rooney was probably the most impressive thing because Carrick was looking for him every single time he got the ball, popping those 20 yard balls into his feet, Rooney getting turned in that little pocket and spreading the ball wide. So that was good."
