Dundalk's season didn't close on the high they would have wanted, but overall it's been a magnificent season for Stephen Kenny's men.
Kevin Kilbane spoke on tonight's Off The Ball about the achievement's of the club, how they look set to face into the new domestic season and how they'll cope if two of the team's key players leave the club.
"It looks as though two of the main players in the team will be leaving, with Andy Boyle likely to be moving to Preston North End" he said.
"I'd speak to Alan Kelly who's the goalkeeping coach in there and you'd always throw names at him when you go and watch League of Ireland games.
"Certainly Daryl Horgan would have been one of the names I would have mentioned to him at various times and I spoke to Simon Grayson - Preston North End's manager - during the summer time and mentioned Horgan again, along with a couple of other lads.
"Basically what he told me was 'we'll get our lads onto it'. I got a call a few weeks ago with regards to Andy Boyle from Alan Kelly, basically just sounding me out and asking me what I thought.
"Andy Boyle wouldn't have been one I would have mentioned early on but and that has no reflection on his ability. Certainly Daryl Horgan would have been one of the players who stands out and you can clearly see that he's a player capable of playing over there in England.
"I think [Boyle] will play. And as Horgan looks like he'll be going to Preston as well, certainly he's going to be moving, I think it's a no-brainer for them to take him. I think they're both capable of playing.
"Andy Boyle will be given a chance within Simon Grayson's back four, or back five as he plays. They've also got Greg Cunningham, Alan Browne, Eoin Doyle and Aiden McGeady. That would put it up to six Irish lads. PNE could be the new Sunderland or something."

With regards to Dundalk's monetary gain for the season, he highlighted their run in Europe as one of their primary reasons to be positive next season.
"Financially it's been incredible, over €6m they've earned from the run and €3m it looks like they'll get when they clear bonuses and these kind of things.
"That's phenomenal considering where they've come from and what they've done. The style of football they've been playing as well - virtually every one of their players or the majority of the players within the squad have been linked with moves away."
