Klopp criticises pundits after MUFC protests | 'We need to be careful'

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has criticised pundits who didn't discourage  protests by Manchester United fans at Old Trafford last weekend.

The action by some fans against the Glazer family led to the postponement of the scheduled game between rivals Manchester United and Liverpool last Sunday.

Two police officers were injured during the protests. Klopp joined fellow manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in condemning the violence.

"People want to tell their opinion, that is completely fine. But I know in situations like that don't happen too often, but nobody gets hurt," Klopp said.

The Liverpool manager criticised the input of some pundits and their rhetoric in the wake of the Super League fall-out.

"That's why I said a week before when pundits were going asking for protests, and stuff like that we have all to be careful, to calm down and ask for the right things," Klopp said.

"Because I don't know exactly what happened there but I heard some policemen got injured. These kind of things should not happen, for sure.

"They should not break down the doors and stuff like this. To tell the world what you think is fine as long as it is completely peaceful.

"As far as I know it was not completely peaceful, and that is not right anymore."

The postponement of the game has led to a packed schedule for Manchester United with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side playing three games in five days.

The fixture against Liverpool at Old Trafford has been rescheduled for Thursday May 13th. It follows games on Sunday at Villa Park and Tuesday with Leicester visiting Old Trafford just 48 hours before Liverpool.

Solskjaer has bemaoned the fixture pile -up claiming those who mde the arrangements "don't understand football."

While Manchester United co-owner Joel Glazer has since written to fans while adm, itting that the club needs to listen.
