Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel in line for Champions League return

Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel may be in line for a return for tonight's Champions League group stage clash with Porto at the King Power Stadium.

Claudio Ranieri's side go into tonight's game on the back of a 4-1 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Schmeichel has been missing for three games since Leicester overcame Club Brugge in their opening Group G game. However, the Dane may make a return to the starting XI in time for the first home Champions League game in the club's history.

"It is fantastic for our fans," said Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri. "A lot of them came to Bruges to hear the music. [Tuesday] a lot [more of] them can hear it.

"It will be fantastic to continue the fairytale for them and we hope to produce good football and a victory."

Of his attacking options, Ranieri has a couple of options to choose from including Jamie Vardy, Demarai Gray - who scored against Manchester United - and former Sporting Lisbon striker, Islam Slimani.

"He's a goalscorer and has scored a lot of goals against Porto and I'm sure he'll be a threat to them. Slimani scores so many times against Porto I am thinking if he's going to play or not.

"Yes, I spoke with him about Porto. We have a lot of respect for Porto, they are a more experienced team in Europe than us."
