Liverpool loanee returns to Swindon after fine row

Liverpool goalkeeper, Lawrence Vigouroux, has returned to League One side Swindon after paying a fine to the club with 5,000 one pence pieces.

The Chilean 'keeper, who is currently on loan with the club, apologised for paying the fine he incurred for showing up late to a training session.

“Lawrence is going to come back, he is very humble and very apologetic,” manager Mark Cooper told the BBC.

"He knows the way he behaved was wrong and he has been in the changing room after the game and apologised to the players.

Cooper acknowledged the quick wit of the 21-year-old, who has made nine appearance for Swindon, and said: "“I thought it was brilliant banter, but in the context it was the wrong way to go about it. We are giving him a second chance, and I’m sure he will be grateful.”

Swindon sit 14th in League One after their two-all draw away to Doncaster.
